In Vorupør you can still experience the traditional coastal fishing. Fishing takes place from open vessels which are pulled up upon the beach with the day's catch. Many of the families in town have been living like this for generations and the locals are still very conscious of their rough neighbour, the sea. You can also visit the well-known North Sea Aquarium in Vorupør where you can see and touch the many fishes that live in the North Sea.

If you prefer to eat the fish, you can buy fresh as well as smoked fish - and enjoy the exciting shopping atmosphere of the towns. Towns full of cosy local atmosphere, of joie de vivre and activity all year round and you will no doubt feel welcome in these authentic fishing hamlets.

Peace, nature and attractions
Thy is the perfect place for those who are looking for peace and impressive natural experiences but who like a wide range of attractions too. In Vorupør you can visit the local sweet factory, candle factory, and the glassblower's workshop. And each summer the magnificent sailing ship "Lovise Moland" leaves the beautiful port of Thisted and goes for a summer tour in the Liim Fiord. Here you can enjoy the amazing scenery which is quite unique especially when seen from offshore. And pirate sailing is arranged for the young members of the family.
