Korshage – protected coastal heath
By the mouth of the Isefjord into Kattegat you find Korshage, a protected stretch of coastal heath. In spring and autumn thousands of migrating birds can be seen on their way north or south. A visit to Korshage is especially recommended in August when the heather is in flower.
Skansehage – defence redoubts and sand reefs
Skansehage is actually a sand reef constantly growing into the fjord. The name is derived from the redoubts which were constructed around 1800 as a defence against the English.
The white holiday camp was originally a cholera quarantine station.
