Shelters at the Sun Chariot Finding Place

Spend the night close to the Bronze Age in one of the six shelters inaugurated in May 2025 at the Sun Chariot Finding Place.

Here in the middle of nature, where one of Denmark's greatest national treasures was found in 1902, you'll wake up to a beautiful view of the landscape of Trundholm Mose.

From the shelter you can enjoy the sight of timeless and harmless Dexter cattle grazing freely in the historic area.

Atmospheric fire pit
At the shelter site there is a fire pit so you can easily light a fire and enjoy the atmosphere while the fire crackles merrily.

You must bring your own firewood for the fire, unless special arrangements have been made with Geopark Odsherred for group visits.

IMPORTANT: No matter how many people gather around the fire, the fire must always be extinguished before leaving the area.

Solar-powered pit toilet
A pit toilet is located a short distance from the shelter site. Here, a solar-powered function sends bad odors out of the small toilet room.

Booking rules
If you are staying alone or in a group of up to 7 people in total, the "first-come, first-served" principle applies and booking is not necessary.

For overnight stays of 8 guests in total or more, reservations must always be made via the email address helle@geoparkodsherred.dk.

Lovely picnic area with tables and benches
If you are on a trip with a backpack, bike bag or picnic basket, you can sit down in the new picnic area with four large table and bench sets.

Good parking conditions
If you are driving, there are good parking options at the arrival area at the entrance gate.
