This beach by the Kattegat Sea is not an ordinary beach. It is the remains of ancient beach ridges created in the last part of the Stone Age. Due to the natural resource content of these beach ridges,(gravel) the crushed stone industry dominated the area up until the 20th century.

Today, the remains of the beach ridges enable the terrain to appear artificial and uneven.

The home owners’ associations Gyvelbugten, Klitrosebugten and Tornerosebugten are collaborating with the Nature Team at Odsherred Municipality concerning nature management of the various habitats along the coast.
